When Ashley (Abode Beauty Bar) came to me with her idea of creating a styled shoot that was 100% sustainable in every aspect , I could not help but get excited! This was right up my alley and was everything I stand for both in my personal life and my career as an event planner. I am Always encouraging my couples to be conscious about the choices they are making on their wedding day and it’s effect on the planet.
For this shoot 70’s was a theme that had not really been done before and was the perfect inspiration for all the colors and textures that were incorporated. I just loved playing with all the different tones in the vibrant + earthy color palette. Terra cotta was the perfect medium to accent all these colors which I was able to incorporate throughout the shoot.
From custom calligraphy name tags on reused broken pieces of pottery to uniquely shaped vases which were the perfect vessel for the rose buds. There were SO many aspects of this shoot that made my “earth friendly heart”, happy. Stationery made from seed paper that could be planted after use . Bridal gowns made from sustainable fabrics. Dip dyed reusable napkins for dinner. Dried cotton pods used as a cute accent on each place setting. A delicious , Dairy free, sugar free, gluten free cake , made from only organic ingredients. The list goes ON!
Everything about this shoot was a dream and to top it all off the “Bride” and “Groom” were SO incredibly talented singing and playing their song to each other. Fun fact, Julie wrote this song herself alongside her sweet husband Spencer who both are so musically talented. This was just the most unique and fun experience I’ve gotten to be apart of in my styled shoots so far.

"My husband openly admits he originally thought hiring a wedding planner seemed like an unnecessary expense, now he’s is the first to say how wrong he was. Every detail was intentional and special. I had mentioned to Carianne my dad loved ice cream and before he passed away, we would always have special ice cream dates together.
